At WVU Children's Hospital, we change lives every day.
You'll find many of West Virginia's smallest and most vulnerable infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Some are born many weeks too early and weigh just a couple of pounds. Others have serious medical problems whose treatment can't be delayed.
Brody Wilmoth faced both challenges. Weighing just 2 pounds, 5 ounces, at birth, he soon began bleeding from the lungs. For the first 85 days of his life, WVU's NICU was his home. Today, at 2, he's thriving.
Helping these babies is a tremendous medical challenge but also a great honor, because whenever we save a life so young, we are making the gift of a lifetime.
