CME course for advanced care and treatment in epilepsy for clinicians

Vijayalakshmi Rajasekaran, M.D., assistant professor in WVU's Department of Neurology will conduct a training course in "Advanced Care and Treatment for Epilepsy in Clinicians." Offered in partnership with the Epilepsy Foundation and the Office of Continuing Medical Education, the course will be held on Tues., Nov. 15 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriot, Morgantown. This course is designed for general neurologists, NP’s, PA’s, emergency room doctors and any other clinicians treating patients with epilepsy.

Following this lecture, participants will be able to: assist patients in understanding and managing seizures; identify newer AED’s available for the treatment of seizures and recognize when they can be used; discuss therapeutic devices and surgeries available for treatment; determine when it is necessary to refer to a Comprehensive Epilepsy Center.

The WVU office of CME designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1.5 credits™. Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
