Nominate individuals who advance women’s concerns for distinguished Buswell Award

Awards $1,000 for travel, supplies or other items

The Council for Women's Concerns is accepting nominations for the Mary Catherine Buswell Award. This accolade, established in 1978, honors a person who has shown a dedication to the advancement of women. The award winner will receive $1,000 for travel, supplies, salary supplement or any other use commensurate with WVU policies.

Nominees may include University faculty, staff, students or West Virginia citizens who have provided outstanding service to women at the University. Recipients are chosen for excellence in their field as it relates to the advancement of University women; community or civic activities that serve and advance women; and, significant pioneering activities that improve the status of women.

The nomination process is quick and easy, requiring only a nomination/application letter and two letters of recommendation. Nominations must be submitted by March 1. The nomination form and more information can be found by visiting the Council for Women's Concerns website.
