New providers - May 2020

The following providers joined WVU Medicine in May:

HEART AND VASCULAR INSTITUTE

Runa Bhattacharya, MD, joins the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute as a non-invasive cardiologist at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Dr. Bhattacharya previously practiced at Berkeley Medical Center, and she is now rejoining the faculty.

Luigi Lagazzi, MD, joins the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute in Morgantown, West Virginia as a cardiothoracic surgeon. He formerly served as associate professor of cardiothoracic surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University as well as section chief of cardiothoracic surgery and surgical director of heart transplant and mechanical circulatory support program at McGuire Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia.

PATHOLOGY

Nasir Khan, MD, joins WVU Medicine as a pathologist at Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale, West Virginia. Dr. Khan is the former chairman and medical director of pathology at Ohio Valley Medical Center, East Ohio Regional Hospital, Barnesville Hospital, Reynolds Memorial Hospital, and Fairmont Regional Medical Center.

PEDIATRICS

Ashley Meyer, DO, joins WVU Medicine Children's in Morgantown, West Virginia as a pediatric hematologist/oncologist. Dr. Meyer was an attending physician at Charleston Area Medical Center and with the Children’s Oncology Group. She completed a pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana.
