ANESTHESIOLOGY
Laima Bendel, MD joins the Department of Anesthesiology. Dr. Bendel is a pediatric anesthesiologist who was formerly an associate professor of anesthesiology with University of Pittsburgh Physicians and the Medical Director of Satellites for Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.

EMERGENCY MEDICINE
Robert Bowers, MD joins the Department of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Bowers was a family medicine physician at the VA in Clarksburg prior to joining WVU.

HEART AND VASCULAR INSTITUTE
Robert Amory, DO joins the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute. Dr. Amory is a noninvasive cardiologist who was most recently with Excela Health Cardiology, Greensburg, PA.

Ajay Virmani, MD, Manish Jhawar, MD, David Plitt, MD, Runa Bhattachanya, MD, and Sree Kesan, MD, cardiologists from the Heart & Vascular Institute of Winchester and the Heart & Vein Center, Martinsburg, join the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute’s Eastern Region in Martinsburg, WV. Drs. Virmani, Jhawar and Plitt are interventional cardiologists, Dr. Bhattachanya is a non-invasive cardiologist, and Dr. Kesan is an elecyrophysiologist.

OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY
Valerie Galvan-Turner, MD joins the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Galvan-Turner completed a gynecologic oncology fellowship at the University of California-Irvine and completed ObGyn residency at the University of Texas, Galveston, where she also earned her MD. Her specialties are advanced surgical debulking and minimally invasive and robotic surgery.
