The 2019 WVU Food Desert Summit was held at the Bridgeport Conference Center on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Organized by Assistant Professor Lauri Andress -- in collaboration with the WVU Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design, WVU Extension Service and the WVU Foundation -- the event focused on finding solutions to food insecurity.
Guests included food retailers, as well as university staff and food access specialists. The event was held to raise awareness about increasing the public’s access to healthy food.
The WVU Food Desert Summit was made possible through support from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.
