McCloy’s Condition Still ‘Serious’

MORGANTOWN, W.Va.-- Randal McCloy, the sole survivor of the Jan. 2 Sago Mine accident, remained in serious condition Monday.

Larry Roberts, M.D., director of the Jon Michael Moore Trauma Center at WVU Hospitals, reported that McCloy’s neurological condition remains unchanged.

McCloy’s condition was upgraded from “critical” to “serious” on Sunday, as he is now breathing without the assistance of a ventilator.

Note to editors: Over the holiday weekend WVU Hospitals will provide only one update per day, unless there is significant news to report.
