WVU's Epilepsy Center provides multidisciplinary, state-of-the-are care for adults and children with seizure disorders. Our level 4 comprehensive center, active since 2002, offers extensive diagnostic and treatment services to patients throughout the region.
Level 4 is the highest designation awarded by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers, and indicates a regional or national referral center that provides the most sophisticated diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities for the evaluation and treatment of epilepsy.
The Epilepsy Center team includes specialists in neurology, neurosurgery, neuropsychology and neuroradiology. The referring physician is also a key member of the treatment team, and we are committed to keeping the lines of communication open.
WVU Neurosciences programs enjoy a national reputation. In our international program, patients come from around the world for advanced neurosurgery. The WVU Center for Advanced Imaging houses researchers focused on advancing imaging technology. CAI's 20,000 square foot facility includes nuclear imaging with PET and SPECT, a 3T-MRI, an fMRI program, magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and an image guidance research laboratory.
