The Clinical Laboratories at WVU Hospitals provides comprehensive laboratory testing services for patients. The labs are staffed by professionals trained in laboratory sciences and by pathologists who are part of the Department of Pathology.
A wide variety of tests are performed on blood, urine, body fluids, and tissue in order to help diagnose and treat diseases. Many of the tests are performed on automated testing platforms with results transmitted electronically.
The WVU Clinical Laboratories have been accredited by various organizations including JCAHO, CAP, and CLIA. Commitments to internal and external quality assurance programs guarantee high quality testing.
