Each Area Health Education Center (AHEC) works closely with students as they are placed with preceptors to provide health care throughout the five AHEC regions in WV: Northern counties, Eastern counties, Central counties, Southern counties, and Southeastern counties. The WVU Institute for Community & Rural Health provides off-campus housing as needed to ensure students are able to provide health care services to critical areas of the state.
