Reading Group Therapy

Children with reading disorders or learning disabilities benefit from intensive treatment on reading and reading skills (e.g., phonemic awareness, sounding out words, and reading comprehension). This summer camp will provide them opportunity to continue their reading instruction throughout the summer months.

Following an evaluation of your child’s reading skills, students will participate in instruction in groups utilizing the Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing Program with no more than three children per group. The sessions will address the reading skills that they need depending on the results of the initial evaluation.

  • Group 1: Mondays and Wednesdays 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
  • Group 2: Tuesdays and Thursdays 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.

The sessions will be under the supervision of faculty providers in the Division of Communication Sciences and Disorders with expertise in reading disorders.

The Summer Reading Camp is a Rite Care clinic funded opportunity provided at no cost for those in need of speech sound treatment.
