Congratulations to our May 2025 graduates!
As we wrap up the Spring 2025 semester, we are excited to celebrate our newest Health Sciences graduates who are about to begin another step in their journey. Together, these students have accomplished so much personally and professionally while learning and working to improve health and well-being.
Our graduates’ inspiring stories and lifetime commitment to serving others is an opportunity to reflect on our individual purpose and our collective mission at Health Sciences and West Virginia University.
We can’t wait to see all that these graduates will accomplish, and we are so excited to cheer them on. We hope the lessons they’ve learned along the way provide guidance and reassurance in their new adventures.
Remember, country roads will always lead you back home.
Commencement ceremonies will be live-streamed on this website, as well as graduation.wvu.edu. Archived recordings will also be available on both websites.
For attendees, free ceremony parking is available at the Coliseum. Members of the WVU Police Department will be directing traffic.
The Coliseum is ADA compliant with ADA parking in the front of the building. A valid handicap placard will be required for handicap parking. Shuttles and golf carts will be running in the parking areas.
The PRT closes for summer break Saturday, May 10, and will not be an option for transportation to and from Commencement Weekend ceremonies.
Guests may enter through any of the gates at the Coliseum. Doors will open one hour prior to ceremony start time.
Graduates should check-in at the Basketball Practice Facility 60 minutes prior to the ceremony time.
No one other than the graduates will be permitted into the check-in areas.
The University’s Clear Bag Policy will be enforced for Commencement activities. Attendees may bring in one clear bag no larger than 12"×6"×12" or a 1-gallon plastic storage bag. Attendees are limited to one clear bag per person, along with a small clutch bag (no larger than 4.5"×6.5") for privacy.
WVU provided me with a variety of opportunities to further myself as a person both academically and socially. The resources at the university are abundant and all the staff want to assist students to be the most successful that they can be. WVU provided me with the foundation to start my career, and the necessary tools to further my education.
I wanted to become a nurse because caring for others has always been important to me. My mom has been a nurse for 30-plus years and she has always been my role model, so I feel like that was another reason I wanted to become a nurse.
Overall, through this program, I have been able to be more than just a hygiene student. I am a leader, a mentor, a friend, a volunteer and a person my childhood self would be proud of.
With graduation right around the corner, I feel more prepared every day to be a nurse. My professors have made an incredible impact on not only my knowledge but also my heart. My professors have been excellent examples of how to be a good nurse and show your patients that you truly care for their well-being.
Public health is not only a way for me to share my dedication to my country but also to its people.
