Our Policy on Accessibility

All content published on your website must be accessible to everyone regardless of ability, device, or connection speed. Accessibility isn’t optional. It’s a legal requirement under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

The Health Sciences Communications and Marketing Digital team reserves the right to modify or remove any website and Directory profile content that does not comply with accessibility standards.

Why Accessibility Matters

Not all users experience the web the same way. Some rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, or captioning. Others may access your content with slower internet speeds or on mobile devices. Ensuring accessibility means your site works for:

  • Visual impairments: Use screen-reader-friendly text, alt tags for images, and avoid relying on color alone to convey meaning.

  • Hearing impairments: Provide captions or transcripts for all audio and video content.

  • Motor impairments: Ensure all functionality is accessible via keyboard navigation (e.g., using the Tab key).

  • Cognitive impairments: Use clear, concise language, predictable layouts, and avoid flashing or flickering elements.
