Referrals
Referrals to the WVU Disordered Eating Center of Charleston (DECC)
The DECC is currently accepting new child, adolescent, and adult referrals.
Referrals should be made by a healthcare provider using the DECC referral form, available for download below. Completed forms can be faxed to the number listed on the form, or providers may call the DECC Scheduling Specialist at 304-388-1000 for assistance.
Our scheduling team can help coordinate appointments with psychiatrists, psychotherapists, and our registered dietitian.
Please note that, due to provider availability, adult psychotherapy referrals may be limited. As a training site, DECC clinicians are only able to accept new patients during certain rotation periods. Additionally, there is a statewide shortage of providers with specialized training in eating disorder treatment, which may affect appointment availability.
Important program notes:
DECC does not provide services for weight loss or food addiction.
Our clinicians do not recommend or support weight loss surgery or related procedures.
