Mashed Turnips
Prep Time: 10
Cooking Time: 50
Ingredients
- • 7 large turnips, peeled and quartered
- • 1 cup milk
- • 2 tbsp butter
- • Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- For easier peeling: use a fork to poke holes in turnips, and then microwave for 5 minutes. Remove carefully (they’re hot!) and proceed to peel and quarter.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook turnips until tender, 35-45 minutes. Strain and rinse.
- Mash turnips in pot without any seasonings first, and strain out excess water again.
- In a large mixing bowl, add mashed turnips, butter, salt, pepper, and a small amount of milk. Add milk gradually until you reach desired texture.
