The Office of Health Affairs frequently engages in collaborative efforts with state partners such as the West Virginia’s Department of Health and Human Resources. Ideal candidates will have work experience in public health, health data analytics, Medicaid programs, program evaluation and management.

Program Director/Research Associate (Hybrid) 

The Program Director will be a key participant in the emerging State-University partnership between the West Virginia University Health Sciences Center and the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. Overarching responsibilities include working with the state to leverage their data and support analytic and policy needs, conducting relevant policy and evaluation research, participating in interdisciplinary research and evaluation teams, and providing oversight and support to other data analysts and personnel embedded within the Department for Health and Human Resources.

Senior Survey Statistician/Research Scientist (Hybrid)

The Senior Survey Statistician is a key participant in OHA’s State-University partnership and interdisciplinary research and evaluation project teams. Overarching responsibilities include overseeing and leading statistical analyses and interpretation of results for survey research across OHA projects and overseeing quality control procedures that ensure that all survey statistical work OHA meets established standards. This will include coordinating with state partners to lead the development of analytic design for large-scale evaluations, research and/or policy analyses, guiding and directing other analysts within OHA interdisciplinary research and evaluation teams to achieve analytic objectives, and providing oversight to the project work of analysts and research associates supporting health survey analytics across OHA teams.

The Health Data Analyst’s overarching responsibilities include conducting relevant policy and evaluation research, and participating in interdisciplinary research and evaluation teams. The successful Health Data Analyst will be data-driven with strong analytical skills and a proven record of finding insights in disparate data and effectively communicating that information to drive decision making.

Health Data Analyst

The Office of Heath Affairs at West Virginia University is seeking applications for a Health Data Analyst located in Charleston, WV.  The Health Data Analyst is a key participant in the emerging State-University partnership between the West Virginia University Health Sciences Center and the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources.  Overarching responsibilities include working with the State to leverage support analytic and policy needs, conduct relevant policy and evaluation research, participate in interdisciplinary research and evaluation teams, and provide oversight and support to other data analysts and personnel embedded within the Department for Health and Human Resources. Director of Program Development and Management (Remote)

The purpose of this position is to provide strategic direction, management and oversight of the Program Development and Management Office (PDMO), under the guidance of the Executive Director, to assure the health and success of its program portfolios and that it meets organization goals and requirements. The Director of Program Development and Management holds both leadership and management roles in the Office of Health Affairs. It is a highly visible role, responsible for the overall program management and governance function by providing leadership, coordination, and management of the PDMO processes and functions. This position is responsible for various methods and best practices, improving the overall project management maturity (PPM) across the Office of Health Affairs, and tracking and reporting the fulfillment of plans and expectations of all initiatives.

Senior Epidemiologist (Hybrid)

West Virginia University’s (WVU) Office of Health Affairs (OHA) is seeking candidates for a full-time Senior Epidemiologist (Hybrid) position to assist in leading research and evaluation efforts across OHA interdisciplinary research and evaluation teams. OHA serves as the coordinating office for WVU’s State-University partnership with West Virginia’s Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR). OHA frequently engages in collaborative efforts with the WV DHHR and other state and nonprofit partners that hold a mission to improve the health of West Virginians, which is the purpose of OHA.  Ideal candidates will have work experience that aligns with OHA’s purpose and the mission of DHHR’s Bureau for Medical Services, Bureau for Social Services, Bureau for Behavioral Health or Bureau for Public Health, and an interest in improving the health of underserved populations, particularly rural, Appalachian populations.
