Hollywood Game Night

The "Psychic Professors" battled against the "Tacky Tourists" during a hilarious evening of mini-games. Hosted by the Student Nurses' Association, the fun-filled event raised money for the WV Kids Cancer Crusaders as part of Childhood Cancer Awarenss Month.

Making a difference while having fun.

It is always a treat to see the creative and fun ways our students and faculty come together to support great causes.

Hollywood Game Night, hosted by our Student Nurses' Association, helped raise funds and bring awareness to childhood cancer.

A new operating room at WVU is providing an interactive educational experience to learners of all skill levels. One of our Nurse Anesthesia students, Megan Bryant, is featured! 

New Keyser Campus student organization aims to blend faith with health and wellness

Through a newly created student organization at WVU Potomac State College, interested students can join “Faith Community Health and Wellness” to learn how to promote health and well-being in local faith communities and beyond. Led by SON Keyser Campus instructors Dr. Diana Niland and Matthew Hottle, the organization is open to students from all different backgrounds and academic disciplines.

New WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital celebrated with ribbon-cutting ceremony

Leaders from WVU Medicine and the State of West Virginia gathered Sept. 24 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital to cut the ribbon on the new 150-bed, $215 million WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital.

Faculty and staff are invited to join a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. at our newest campus in Bridgeport, located at WVU Medicine United Hospital Center.

Fall Seminar Series explores perseverance and human connection

To provide the WVU Health Sciences community with a personal development toolkit, the Chancellor’s Office will continue its fall seminar series with a discussion on “Resilience & Grit” Wednesday, Oct. 5 at noon in Health Sciences Center North Room G119A and via Zoom.

School of Nursing to lead discussions on LGBTQ nursing curriculum, rural health lessons from Zimbabwe

The WVU School of Nursing will host two events during Diversity Week, including “Factors Influencing Faculty Decisions to Teach LGBTQ Content in Undergraduate Nursing Programs: A Journal Club Discussion” and “Overcoming Challenges Associated with Rural Nursing in Zimbabwe.”

Simulation Certificate Program to be offered Oct. 12-14

The WVU School of Medicine Office of Continuing Medical Information in collaboration with the David and Jo Ann Shaw Center for Simulation Training and Education for Patient Safety (STEPS) will offer the Simulation Certificate Program Oct. 12-14 for instructors with interest in quality teaching with simulation.

After nearly two years virtual, Wellness Classes will return in-person at the HSC Wellness Studio! From Sept. 12 to Oct. 21, the Wellness Center will offer a combination of live and online classes.

Led by a team of expert instructors, this six-week series will cover a variety of mindfulness-based techniques and exercises aimed at combatting burnout, improving stress response, and enhancing overall quality of life.
