Financial Incentives

The state of West Virginia and the federal government operate most of the available financial incentives.

Financial incentive programs typically provide a cash award in exchange for agreeing to practice for a specified amount of time in a primary care setting in a rural or underserved area of the state. These programs often require that the award be used to pay off student loan debt.
