In the video below, Chief Medical Officer Michael Edmond, MD, and Chief Pharmacy Officer Todd Karpinski, PharmD, discuss distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine to WVU Medicine employees. All employees are highly encouraged to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, but vaccination is not mandatory.
The first employees to receive the vaccine will be those working very closely with COVID-positive patients, including those in our emergency departments and intensive care units. As more doses of the vaccine become available, WVU Medicine will expand access to additional employees.
WVU Medicine employees who are eligible for the first round of vaccines will receive an email to self-schedule their vaccine through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Vaccine Administration Management System.
