Employee instructors needed for Workplace Violence Program

WVU Hospitals has created a new comprehensive, standardized, and evidence-based Workplace Violence Program that focuses on education, mitigation, and infrastructure enhancements. The program is based on the AVADE® Education, Prevention, and Mitigation model.

Despite the pandemic, the initiative has gained momentum in the past six months. Program officials want to increase the pool of internal instructors (“train the trainer”) to expand training capabilities.

Employees are encouraged to submit the name of a staff member in their department to be considered as an AVADE trainer. Please email their name, job title, and department to the steering committee at WVUHWorkplaceViolenceProgram@wvumedicine.org by Friday, Aug. 6.

Candidates should possess excellent presentation skills, the availability to conduct classes three to four times a month, and the ability to relate to both clinical and non-clinical staff.

The committee will review the applicants to assure a diverse pool of instructors and select “train the trainer” dates based on best availability for all.
