The Joint Commission will conduct an unannounced extension survey at WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital.
The survey will be unannounced and may occur on any day depending on surveyor availability, according to Ambica Kimble, MBA, LSSBB, regulatory coordinator with WVU Medicine’s Center for Quality Outcomes.
Four surveyors, three clinical and one life safety engineer, will be on site surveying Children’s Hospital. Extension surveys serve as an expansion of the existing accreditation that the hospital has earned. It is performed when a hospital adopts new sites or services.
