Mindfulness-Based Resilience Training available for front-line health workers

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, West Virginia University, and Marshall University are offering a two-day Mindfulness-Based Resilience Training program targeted to West Virginia front-line health workers and law enforcement personnel.

The free program is focused on improving mental and physical well-being, and preventing compassion fatigue and burnout. It’s being offered on multiple dates and at various locations:

  • Feb. 14-15 – Huntington
  • Feb. 17-18 – Wheeling
  • March 21-22 – Martinsburg
  • April 21-22 – Martinsburg
  • April 25-26 – Charleston
  • May 12-13 – Wheeling

Why participate?

  • Work stress is negatively affecting health and job functioning
  • Building resiliency can reduce the impact of work stress and improve overall functioning and well-being
  • Mindfulness-based resilience training has been shown to be effective among West Virginia first responders
