Some WVU Medicine providers are reporting that they’re being targeted with a phone scam. They’re receiving a call from a number that comes up as being from the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office when, in fact, it’s not. When the call is returned, the provider is told that they’re being called because they have failed to appear in court.
WVU Medicine providers who receive a scam call are asked to request a call back number and alert Sunita Kellermeyer, of WVU Medicine Legal Services, at sunita.kellermeyer@wvumedicine.org.
