The WVU Heart and Vascular Institute Division of Thoracic Surgery, in association with the WVU Cancer Institute, will hold a virtual bi-weekly regional thoracic and esophageal tumor board beginning in January 2021.
With a group of colleagues coming together and sharing insight, the tumor board aims to improve the health of patients across the state of West Virginia and the thoracic and esophageal tumor services provided.
In addition to thoracic and esophageal oncology cases, the tumor board will act as a second opinion discussion platform for benign conditions, such as thymectomy for Myasthenia Gravis, tracheal and airway disorders, benign esophageal conditions, chest wall disorders, and more.
The thoracic and esophageal tumor board will meet on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, and the first meeting will be held on January 12, 2021.
