WVU Hospitals established the Employee Holiday Assistance Program to assist employees in providing holiday cheer for eligible dependent children from birth to 13 years of age. Many departments and employees have enriched the holidays with their generosity for these children over the years.
Interested employees must complete an application and submit it with a “wish list” for each child to Care Management by Sunday, Nov. 1. Applications are reviewed for eligibility prior to matching the children with sponsors.
Guidelines for the program include:
- The wish lists will be available for distribution on Monday, Nov. 9. Applicants have been instructed to include needed items, in addition to “fun” items.
- The recommended spending allowance is $125-$150 per child.
- Items are not to be wrapped. Please include new wrapping paper, bags, bows etc. in original packaging.
- Delivery dates are Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 7-8 only. Due to COVID-19 infection control measures, no early or late deliveries will be accepted this year. At this time, the drop-off location will be the Bruce McClymonds Conference Center (side B), although this is subject to change.
Departments and individuals interested in sponsoring a child should return the pledge form to Care Management by Sunday, Nov. 1.
Forms and applications can be mailed to the WVUH Care Management Department at PO Box 8237, dropped off at Care Management office (fourth floor, northeast tower by loading dock), faxed to 304 598-4773, or emailed to michele.kelly@wvumedicine.org or tiffany.yanuzo@wvumedicine.org.
