Beckley nursing students support health fair

WVU School of Nursing Beckley Campus juniors in NSG 311 Medical-Surgical Nursing recently helped host a Community Health and Resource Fair at Wellspring of Greenbrier.

Students provided blood pressure screenings, blood glucose checks, mental health education, and basic “Stop the Bleed” training for community members.

“This event not only served the local community but also gave our students a valuable opportunity to develop their communication and networking skills in a real-world, community-based setting,” said Kelley Coleman, a Beckley Campus instructor. “It was a wonderful experience for everyone involved.”

Wellspring is a nonprofit in Greenbrier County providing food, education and other essentials to southern West Virginia's disadvantaged, unhoused and transient populations.
