Beckley students promote awareness, prevention of suicide

As part of Suicide Prevention Month in September, WVU School of Nursing Beckley Campus seniors worked on projects promoting awareness and prevention of suicide.

Engleish Flynn, instructor for the NSG 450 Alterations in Mental Health course, led the students in the project, which included the design of informational packets and poster displays containing facts about suicide prevention, assessment and community outreach.

The students also used their project as a platform to enforce positive affirmation by making index cards with positive quotes to share.

Flynn said the students did an excellent job during their projects.
