Former autism clinic attendee graduates high school; featured in People Magazine
Hope Crichigno, who received autism services at WVU, recently graduated high school and was featured in a national publication
Hope Crichigno's journey from being diagnosed with severe autism at an early age to graduating high school was recently featured in People Magazine.
Hope attended the Intensive Autism Services Delivery (iASD) Clinic when it first began at the WVU CED. The clinic has since transitioned to become part of the WVU Medicine Children's Neurodevelopmental Center. During her time at the clinic, Hope was able to learn several communication and self-care skills through applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy.
Former LEND trainee Haley Johnson also connected with Hope through the clinic and is featured in the story along with Dr. Susannah Poe and Hope's mother Sarah. Dr. Poe is the Director of ABA Services at WVU Medicine Children's, and we are grateful for her continued support as a partner and mentor with the CED.
