HSC Tip of the Day: Social Engineering

Many times when accounts are compromised it doesnt come from a phishing scam or brute force hacking, it comes from social engineering.  Watch what personal information you put out on your social media (Facebook, etc) because with a little bit of searching someone may be able to figure out the answers to your bank/work/etc challenge questions from what you have shared with the internet and change your password and gain access to that account.  

Also be cafeful of what type of information you give out either over the phone or in person.  It doesnt take much for people to learn what they need to know to hijack your account.
