This Lived Experience Symposium will include a keynote presentation and panel discussion about living with a disability, healthcare, leadership, advocacy, and societal stigma. Experts with lived experience, including people with disabilities, caregivers of a person with a disability, and providers, will discuss their lived experience and share their perspectives of societal impact on their day-to-day lives. Participants will gain a disability perspective from various disability leaders to support inclusive practice in their daily lives.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the perspective of people with lived disability experiences
  2. Recognize the value of considering a disability perspective as a provider or community member
  3. Connect lived disability experience with societal inclusion, universal design, and advocacy
