Media Advisory: WVU School of Nursing – Beckley Campus hosts Southern West Virginia Junior Nursing Academy
WHO: West Virginia University School of Nursing Beckley Campus and West Virginia University Institute of Technology
WHEN: Tuesday, June 14, 2022 through Thursday, June 16, 2022, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. daily
WHAT: The West Virginia University School of Nursing – Beckley Campus and WVU Tech are hosting the Southern West Virginia Junior Nursing Academy to rising 8th, 9th and 10th graders. Students will be visiting Raleigh General Hospital, Appalachian Regional Hospital and West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, as well as learning CPR skills, visiting with AirEvac professionals and more. A pinning ceremony will conclude the camp on June 16.
WHERE: Various locations.
Interviews and photo opportunities will be best at the following times:
- Trip to Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital - Tuesday, June 14, 11:45 a.m. -3:30 p.m. (AirEvac and Skills Stations sessions)
- Trip to West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine – Wednesday, June 15, 10:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
- Trip to Raleigh General Hospital – Thursday, June 16, 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (CPR Certification at Raleigh General Hospital Education Center, 1710 Harper Road, Beckley, WV)
- Award Ceremony - Thursday, June 16, 2022, 5:00 p.m. Carter Hall, 322 S. Kanawha Street, Beckley, WV
