Meet and greet held to introduce students to international nursing honor society

Eligible West Virginia University School of Nursing students were invited Feb. 13 to a meet and greet to learn more about Sigma, the international honor society of nurses dedicated to the advancement of knowledge, teaching, learning and service through the cultivation of communities of practice, education and research.

Membership is offered to the top 35% of undergraduate students completing half of the nursing curriculum; however, upon graduation, all registered nurses are welcome to join Sigma as nurse leaders.

The recent meet and greet, hosted by the board members of Sigma’s WVU Chapter, Alpha Rho, offered attendees a customizable hot chocolate bar, as well as an opportunity to learn about the benefits of joining. In addition to prospective student members, faculty members of Sigma also attended the event.
