School of Medicine M.D. alumni reconnect to roots during Alumni Weekend activities

The annual West Virginia University School of Medicine M.D. Alumni Weekend was held in Morgantown at the Hotel Morgan on Oct. 18-19 to give alumni an opportunity to celebrate achievements, renew relationships and honor the Distinguished Alumnus Award winner, Laurie Gutmann, M.D. during the Alumni Banquet.

Dr. Gutmann, a member of the class of 1986, is professor and chair of Neurology and co-director of the Neuroscience Institute at Indiana University School of Medicine, leading a statewide multidisciplinary approach to research, education and clinical care.

The classes of 1964, 1969, 1974, 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2004, 2009, 2014  and 2019 all celebrated reunions along with the two-year School alumni.

The weekend program ran alongside the University’s Homecoming celebrations, and participants attended the homecoming parade, football game against Kansas State and several smaller opportunities to reconnect with class members and friends through the weekend.
