Volunteers from WVU School of Nursing support mini health fair for veterans

Volunteers from the WVU School of Nursing supported a mini health fair focused on cardiac health during American Heart Month in February.

Held at the American Legion Post on Valentine’s Day, the health fair was targeted primarily toward veterans. The event was cardiac focused with risk assessment.

Nursing volunteers were asked to bring their stethoscopes, a glucometer with supplies and blood pressure cuffs for assessments.

The event was organized by Dr. Sandra “Sam” Cotton, professor emeritus for the WVU School of Nursing.
