WVU Athletic Training program to host information sessions for potential students

Students interested in learning more about WVU’s Athletic Training Master’s degree are invited to hear from faculty and current students at open house events in October.

Sessions are intended for college seniors planning to apply to the Class of 2024. Sessions will also appeal to college juniors, sophomores and first-year students interested in exploring the degree or the admissions process for applying.

In-person session

An in-person session will occur Monday, Oct. 2, beginning at 6 p.m. in the Health Sciences Center North, room 1909 (an auditorium located in the long hallway off the Pylons area).

Pizza will be provided.

Virtual session

A Zoom session is available for those unable to attend the in-person event. The Zoom will take place on Thursday, Oct. 5, at 6 p.m. Once students register, a confirmation with the Zoom link will be provided.

To register for either session, visit go.wvu.edu/ATopenhouse.

About WVU’s Athletic Training Program

The WVU Athletic Training program has educated and prepared sports medicine professionals for over 44 years.

Over 500 athletic training students have graduated from the program and have gone on to pursue careers in medicine, college athletics, professional sports, Olympic training centers, military, performing arts and clinical settings.

Current program alums include NCAA, NFL, MLB, MLS, and NBA sports medicine team athletic trainers. In addition, our Master of Science graduates have a 100% pass rate on the National Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer.

Students can participate in applied clinical research, gross anatomy with dissection lab and clinical rotations in emergency rooms and with WVU Big 12 athletic teams.
