WVU Medical Laboratory Science program sails through accreditation visit

WVU’s Medical Laboratory Science program recently sailed through the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences’ accreditation process with flying colors. The preliminary report showed no citations or concerns and the recommendation for a full, ten-year accreditation status was made to the NAACLS. 

The evaluation team also issued a report to the NAACLS stating that the Medical Laboratory Science program has a team that has effectively fostered an environment for success with its past, current and future students. The exceptional quality of the program is illustrated by the program’s outcomes exceeding all three of NAACLS outcome benchmarks. Strong administrative and financial support is evident for both the current needs of the program along with future program growth. In addition, clinical affiliates and advisory board members are actively involved and committed to ongoing support of the program. Official accreditation status will be issued in late summer.
