WVU Nursing Charleston Campus collects donations for Covenant House

As part of WVU Diversity Week 2023, the WVU School of Nursing Charleston Campus gathered donations for Covenant House, a Charleston-based organization aiming to eradicate homelessness, hunger and create well-being in the Greater Kanawha Valley.

Campuses across the WVU School of Nursing system selected a local charitable organization to support during Diversity Week in September. During the week, collections were geared toward a specific theme, such as Monday: Medical Supplies and Wednesday: Wardrobe.

Dr. Tara Hulsey, Dean of the WVU School of Nursing; Dr. Evelyn Martin, Associate Professor; Dr. Teresa Ritchie, FNP Program Coordinator and SON Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee Chair; Dr. Kathy Atassi, Assistant Professor; and Dr. Theresa Cowan, Charleston Campus Chair, personally delivered the donations Oct. 10 to Sommer Short, Health Equity Outreach Coordinator at Covenant House.
