Showcases highlight unique treatment techniques used by dental and medical experts

WVU professors participate in inaugural orthodontics clinical showcase

West Virginia University School of Dentistry was the first school featured in the newly launched International Orthodontics Foundation (IOF) Clinical Showcase program.

IOF developed the showcases as a way to prompt in-depth communication and discussion on patient-related case studies from around the world.

Providers are invited to learn about advancements in oral healthcare and treatment and medical practices they could utilize in patient care.

In September, faculty from WVU dental school’s orthodontics department presented a course named Interdisciplinary Treatment of Adult Malocclusion.

The cases emphasized how patients can benefit from interprofessionalism and collaboration when being treated for multiple conditions.

Twelve clinical showcases are scheduled over the next year. University of Zuric and Complutense University of Madrid were hosts following WVU’s presentation and discussion.

More than 10,000 clinicians from around the world are tuning into the IOF’s showcases.
