WVU School of Medicine Eastern Campus Class of 2024 celebrates Match Day

The West Virginia University School of Medicine’s Eastern Campus recently celebrated Match Day, where fourth-year medical students were given their letters and learned where they will spend the next several years completing their residency training.

The event was held at the Purple Iris at Hartwood Mansion in Martinsburg on Friday, March 15. Graduating fourth-year medical students from the Eastern Campus, their families and members of the Eastern Campus staff and faculty were in attendance.

The 11 students from the Eastern Campus’s Class of 2024 received their match letters on Friday, with six students attending the celebration in Martinsburg and the remaining five attending the main campus ceremony in Morgantown.

Five students will continue their medical education at WVU with matches to the University’s internal medicine, psychiatry and rural family medicine residency programs, with an additional sixth student matching to the Family Medicine Residency Program at WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital. • Family Medicine – WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, W.Va.
• Internal Medicine – INOVA Fairfax Hospital, Falls Church, Va.
• Internal Medicine – West Virginia University School of Medicine, Morgantown, W.Va.*
• Neurology – Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, N.C.
• Obstetrics and Gynecology – The Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio
• Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation – Georgetown MedStar National Rehab Hospital, Washington D.C.
• Psychiatry – West Virginia University School of Medicine, Morgantown, W.Va.
• Rural Family Medicine – West Virginia University School of Medicine Eastern Campus, Harpers Ferry, W.Va.*

*A total of two Eastern Campus students were matched to this residency program.
