The West Virginia University School of Medicine Health Professions has announced three faculty leadership appointments that will help guide the school's academic and research priorities, while supporting continued excellence in student education.
Emidio Pistilli, PhD, has been named associate dean for research, replacing John Hollander, Ph.D., who is now the chair of the Department of Physiology, Pharmacology and Toxicology. Pistilli, a professor in the Exercise Physiology program and an accomplished researcher, will provide strategic leadership to advance research initiatives and foster collaboration across the Health Professions programs.
Jennifer Momen, MD, MPH, will serve as associate dean for academic affairs. Momen, who will continue to serve as the director of the Physician Assistant Studies program, will oversee academic programming and support continued innovation and excellence in teaching and curriculum.
Megan McDougal, MS, RHIA, CHPS, has been named director of the Health Informatics and Information Management program, having previously served as interim director. In her new role, she will continue to lead the program's academic efforts, maintain accreditation standards, advance program development, and ensure students are prepared for careers in the rapidly evolving fields of health information management, informatics, analytics and healthcare leadership.
