WVU School of Nursing alum recognized with state nursing association award

Lya Stroupe, a 2008 graduate of the WVU School of Nursing BS/BA to BSN program (also known as the Fast-Track program), was recently honored with the West Virginia Nursing Association’s Mentorship Award.

The award goes to the individual who has demonstrated tremendous personal and professional support of WV Nursing including APRN students and their education. This person must actively support the promotion of the nursing profession and standard of the profession and fervently assists in graduating the highest quality nurses) in the state through clinical preceptorship, thus promoting exceptional health care standard with in the state.

Stroupe has served as the manager of RN Professional Development and Research at WVU Medicine for the past 11 years. She is also a commissioner of the American Nurses Credentialing Center and a pediatric nurse practitioner at WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital.

Stroupe is also an adjunct assistant professor with the WVU School of Nursing and the WVU School of Medicine.
