WVU student dentists and hygienists will provide free oral health screenings for veterans

Morgantown, W.Va. – WVU Dental is hosting a free oral health screening day for veterans and active guard and reserve members on Friday, November 10, 2023. WVU School of Dentistry dental and dental hygiene students, overseen by faculty dentists, will offer screenings, x-rays as necessary, cleanings, simple fillings and other urgent care needs based on the determination of the provider.

Limited appointments are available. Veterans interested in an appointment should call 304-293-6208. Appointments are scheduled on a first come, first served basis.

In 2019, the Borgia Family Veteran’s Oral Health Care fund was created to help in the completion of dental treatment plans for service members. Those interested in supporting the fund can learn more and donate online through the WVU Foundation.

Mapping systems sometimes lead drivers to an inaccurate location for the clinics at Health Sciences Center – North. The dental clinics are located behind J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. Patients should follow signs to the Upper Campus, passing the emergency department and WVU Cancer Institute. Written directions can also be found online at https://wvudentalcare.com/directions/.

WVU Dental is the clinical practice component of WVU School of Dentistry. WVU Dental providers include faculty, resident and student dentists.
