The West Virginia University Student Nurses Association (SNA) recently teamed up with the WVU Chapter of A Moment of Magic (AMoM) to fill Easter eggs with stickers and stampers for the WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital.

“We were trying to brainstorm ways to support the Children’s Hospital,” said Sierra Arbaugh. “The Valentine’s Day cards were a big hit, so we wanted to bring something to the hospital for them for Easter as well.”

Arbaugh serves as the Children’s Hospital ambassador for the SNA, as well as a member of AMoM, which invites college students to volunteer at children’s hospitals and schools dressed as storybook characters.

“I want to work with pediatrics after graduation,” Arbaugh shared. “I joined AMoM my freshman year of college. I loved the creative opportunity to work with kids.”

Arbaugh said she’s wanted to work with babies since she was in elementary school.

“I came to WVU as pre-med; I wanted to do neonatology,” Arbaugh said. “I didn’t want to be a nurse initially, but once I was in the classes and the clinicals, I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.”

Hannah Jack, a member of SNA, and Daze French, a member of AMoM, also joined the Easter egg filling activity.

“Because of COVID, we haven’t been able to meet a lot of kids so far, but we want to make as much of an impact as possible,” French said.

The fun-filled eggs will be distributed to children at the hospital as Easter approaches.
