WVU Ultrasound goes international
West Virginia University Department of Emergency Medicine ultrasound fellow, Kristine Robinson, M.D., is taking advanced clinical ultrasound to the international level. She is spending a month in the Philippines volunteering her time and expertise to teach multiple instructive and hands-on sessions to local physicians and emergency medicine residents from Makati Medical Center and St. Luke’s Medical Center in Manila. She is also assisting physicians in gaining improved technical skills for advanced ultrasound applications and offering procedural guidance.
Ultrasound technology allows doctors to make rapid, accurate diagnoses and perform safer, more successful procedures at a low cost and without the use of ionizing radiation. Bringing this education to the Philippines will help patients receive the highest level, most efficient care possible.
