Features of Our Program
- Cell and Molecular Biology and Biomedical Engineering trainees engage in supervised research with a program preceptor and participate in program activities tailored to their particular needs.
The Cell and Molecular Biology and Biomedical Engineering Training Program (CBTP) is designed to build upon didactic instruction received by the students in their graduate programs. The program aims to develop depth of scientific knowledge, breadth (across disciplines) of scientific knowledge and professional skills to provide a strong foundation for scientific careers.
CBTP provides specific mechanisms for students interested in a scientific career in the area of cell and molecular biology and in biomedical engineering to strengthen and develop their expertise in experimental design and methodology, to illustrate connections to health and disease, and to provide opportunities for networking. Activities are designed to develop team approaches to science, management skills, leadership skills and allow exploration of career paths.
Admissions
Students currently enrolled in PhD programs in the Biomedical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biology and Biomedical Engineering, as well as the joint MD/PhD program, may apply to the Cell & Molecular Biology and Biomedical Engineering Training Program. Application can occur as early as the end of the first year in graduate school.
