Features of Our Program
- Cell & Molecular Biology and Biomedical Engineering trainees engage in supervised research with a program preceptor and complete elective courses and program activities tailored to their particular needs.
The Cell Biology Training Program provides specific mechanisms for students interested in a scientific career in the area of cell and molecular biology to strengthen and develop their expertise in experimental design and methodology, to illustrate connections to health and disease, and to provide opportunities for networking. Activities are designed to develop team approaches to science, management skills, leadership skills and allow exploration of career paths are also proposed.
This training program is designed to build upon didactic instruction received by the students in the first year curriculum in Biomedical Sciences. Concepts taught in the Foundations for Contemporary Biomedical Sciences and Cellular Methods courses form the base for the advanced concepts discussed in this training program.
Admissions
Students currently enrolled in PhD programs in the Biomedical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biology and Biomedical Engineering, as well as the joint MD/PhD program, may apply to the Cell & Molecular Biology and Biomedical Engineering Training Program. Application can occur as early as the end of the first year in graduate school.
