SCAN: Skin Cancer Awareness Now!

The only state completely within the Appalachian region, West Virginia is largely rural and is an example of elevated cancer morbidity and mortality with some of the highest rates of melanoma mortality. This project will assess the impact of our SCAN! (Skin Cancer Awareness Now) pharmacy intervention and will increase skin cancer prevention and screening by using approaches supported by sound research, which promises to decrease the unequal burden of skin cancer mortality in Appalachia.
