Alumni & Ambassadors

The goal of the Health Sciences & Technology Academy (HSTA) Ambassadors Club is to provide the underserved student population with the support and tools they need to stay academically motivated and successful in college. Additionally, we will help guide students into the major of their choice that fits their career aspirations, with the ultimate goal of graduating, and transitioning into a graduate degree program and/or professional career.

The WVU Dr. M L King breakfast several of our students received the Dr. Justine A Lee-Burnett Scholarship received from the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Gamma Chi Omega Chapter (which is a graduate chapter located in Morgantown of the sorority). Dr. Gregory Epps has been collaborating with the organization for some time now regarding this effort. There were 15 scholarships presented for $400 each. Ten students of this group were Dr. Epps students and alumni of HSTA. The money will be helpful to the students, but also being honored in front of the President, Provost and a couple of hundred other people is really a big deal for them. It is a tremendous boost in self confidence and self-esteem and also helps them to have a greater sense that people care about them. Dr. Epps is working on a new batch of scholarships for February!
