Mindfulness Summer Series begins May 16
WVU students, faculty and staff are invited to attend a four-part mindfulness series starting May 16 and continuing monthly through August. Participants can expect to learn the positive effects of meditation on the mind and body.

Early career faculty encouraged to register for Teaching Scholars Program
Applications are now open for the 2024-25 Teaching Scholars Program. Presented by the WVU Health Sciences Faculty Development Program, the Teaching Scholars Program is a two-year program designed to foster the growth of early career faculty to their maximum potential in the areas of teaching, research and service.

Kiefer named director of faculty development for WVU Health Sciences
Christopher Kiefer, M.D., MSEd, has been appointed director of faculty development for WVU Health Sciences, effective July 1. He will assume the role following the retirement of Rashida Khakoo, M.D.

WVU Public Health student contributes to research on youth access to e-cigarettes
West Virginia University student Diana Davidson has been interested in human behavior from a young age. During her master’s degree program in the School of Public Health, she has been able to apply her interest to an internship and research project that is aimed at protecting the health of youth across the United States.
HSC ITS website to be redirected to updated IT Help Center
Information Technology Services will decommission the former Health Sciences ITS website on Sunday, May 19, shifting content that remains current and relevant into the updated IT Help Center at it.wvu.edu/help.
