Beckley Campus faculty, students attend State Fair to showcase nursing

Beckley Campus faculty and students attended the State Fair of West Virginia to represent the WVU School of Nursing and showcase nursing as a profession.

Representatives included Campus Chair Hillary Parcell and her daughter Amelia; faculty members Linda Angus, Kara Cales, Patsy Stoots, and Cynthia Clark; and two students, Jacob Dilly and Jayden Shrewsbury.

They provided hands-on activities with a heart and lung manikin and a CPR manikin, and they provided disposable stethoscopes as giveaways for attendees.

"The kids really loved trying to get the green light to come on with effective compressions," Parcell said.
